Car Alarms: 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer aftermarket alarm., overide, mitsubishi lancer

Question
I lost the keyless entry remote, but I still have a spare key.  I was wondering if I used that key to get into my car right now, will the alarm go off?  It's currently armed.  If it does, is there any way to disable it while it's going off?  I read the previous responses about toggling the valet switch, but I assume those methods only work when the car alarm is not going off.  Thanks in advance!

Answer
Read about valet/overide, and then be prepared to use the
procedure shown in the prior posts when
you set off the alarm. Without the remote,
it will go off using just the key.

When the alarm starts to go off, then put it into
valet.

Once in valet overide, leave it that way until you
can get replacements or a new system put in.

Good luck.
