Car Alarms: disarm 2004 chevy silverado alarm, passlock bypass, alarmtek

Question
I was mowing the lawn. My girlfriend was moving rocks so I could mow. Her keys to the Chevy fell out of her shirt pocket, I mowed them over, the key split in two. Did not find the teeth part of the key. So the alarm will sound when I jimmy the door to get proof of ownership for the dealer to make a new key. Is there an easy way to disarm the alarm so our neighbors don't have to listen to the alarm while we go get a key made? Thanks

Answer
No there is no "easy" way around this short of having
new keys cut and programmed.
But you CAN circument it for good.

I get this one a whole lot
(as you probably have read.)

and of course, & Unfortunately, yes this
vehicle has a the PASSLOCK II key
based engine disabling system, and will require a
GM PLJX bypass module to circunvent it and
KEEP IT THAT WAY!

A bypass is required to interupt PASSLOCK for
remote start applications. It is done by
grounding the system to allow it to start,
then re establish it for security usage.

This Passlock Bypass Module is designed to provide
a proper coded pulse to open the fuel rail
passlock injector cut off circuit.

The output from an alarm/remote starter
would then shut down the pulse, once it has detected
the engine has engaged, and preserve the integrity
of the passlock system.

That is it's designed purpose.

This is a self learning, resistor sensing
and self adjusting module. Once the VATS/PASSLOCK
wires have been tapped,
you would press the program button to learn,
and it does. The car should then allow start
with any hardware store key.
