Car Alarms: Code Alarm Elite 4500 w/CSM-2, dip switch settings, joe cassidy

Question
For a laugh, the last 30 days history...Son lost keys with only remote I had for this Chevy Van I bought used with system already installed, battery got drained, couldn't stop alarm, so been driving in valet mode, bought keyfob, no manuals on system so started internet research, read some posts by you and others didn't take system out of alarm mode to program, took to an alarm dealer and they attempted to program it, they couldn't, offered me a new system for $250, left, I was encouraged by *YOUR* (thanks be to God) posts specifically the one where you told someone to double check the constant and switched +12volts, found that switched (blue) wire clean cut from harness and taped, now tired and mad at dealer who probably cut wire, followed included procedure to have remote learned, almost there, but had to replace batter in new remote, now even more determined since I finally got the car to start, unlock and lock!!!!!!!

The question: Somewhere along the way, I set some of the features back to factory defaults.  I'd like to not have it auto-arm, I'd like to press unlock while running from a remote start to get inside, dome light to go off without time delay after entering...in other words all the things it did before this series of unfortunate events.  I can't find anyone to sell me a manual for the Elite 4500 and CSM-2 so that I can re-program these features myself.  I've seen free downloads for many of the newer Code-Alarm systems, but none for mine.  Where can I find how the complete programming codes and procedures and/or manuals?

Answer
Hmmm,
 Try Joe Cassidy at www.tampacaralarms.com
sales@tampacaralarms.com .

He's pretty good about the older manuals and might
have something he can impart to you on it.

Also try Kevin at scadss@tmail.com .
He too might be able to assist.

The toggling between passive setting and active arming,
(yours is auto=passive) may be internal dip switch settings,
or it can be slotted tabs that are put in and out depending
on desired effect. The manual will tell you and
If not, also try the forum (INSTALLSUPPORT.com) and
my friends at the 12 volt (www.the12volt.com)
might also have more.

Good hunting, and I hope it pans out for you.
