Car Alarms: 2000 intrigue, passlock 2, factory security

i have lost the remote for my car. and now the horn will not turn off. (i have taken out the fuse to remedy this) i took it to the dealer thinking the security system had been activated, the dealer couldn't get the remote control door lock receiver to go into programming mode, and told me that it was bad???? do you think a new key fob or a by-pass would help?

No idea without inspection. If the dealer had eyes on
experience with it, I can't second guess it, plus it's
factory security.

The PASSLOCK 2 pypass would get around
the security issue, and allow for starting, but won't
solve the "remote" issue. That simply may need
replacing. If not factory, then add an after market keyless
to replace it.
