Car Alarms: disconnect factory alarm for 92 lexus es300, lexus es300, dash area

Question
QUESTION: my factory alarm will automatically shut the car down at times whereas, I can.t start the car for hours at times. I would like to disconnect the factory alarm totally. Can you please help me

ANSWER: ok, not a problem.

Get out some basic install tools or get
a friend or a good technician
in there to do this.

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. Yours was reset.
Try key in the drivers door, turn left, then
right to diasrm and unlock. If no joy,
you can disable it for good by doing the
following:

To disarm without unlocking, give a
negative pulse to the smaller gauge
red/blue wire in the drivers kick panel.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the OEM alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

If you have already have an after market alarm
however:

(SIREN & FLASHING PARKING LIGHTS= AFTER MARKET
or is it:
CAR HORN & FLASHING HEADLIGHTS= OEM-FACTORY)

Then look for the over ride/valet button under
the dash area, probably to the left leg region,
drilled into the plastic kick panel.

Then it's: KEY ON, PRESS AND HOLD IN BUTTON FIRMLY
UNTIL THE SIREN CHIRPS ONCE, AND THE PARKING LIGHTS
FLASH. THEN KEY OFF.

This is over ride, and the car should start.
The only thing that would work would be keyless
entry if it is installed. The alarm functions
have been suspended.

Let me know which applied to your issue.

Good luck.

QUESTION: I HAVE THE CAR HORN&FLASHING LIGHTS=OEM FACTORY, BUT I CANNOT FIND THE OVERIDE/VALET BUTTON UNDER THE DASH. ALL I SEE IS A BUNCH OF WIRES IN THAT AREA. DOES ALL 92 LEXUS ES300 COME EQUIPPED WITH THIS FEATURE? I HAVE A REMOTE START, SO I USUALLY START THE CAR FROM MY HOUSE. I NEVER KNEW THAT IF YOU TURN THE KEY LEFT TO RIGHT/RIGHT TO LEFT, IT WOULD DISARM THE ALARM SYSTEM. I TRIED THAT AND IT DID NOT WORK FOR ME. CAN THE OVER RIDE BUTTON BE PLACED SOMEWHERE ELSE IN THE CAR?

Answer
May not be under the dash, might be part of the
remote start antenna. Check for a button on the antenna in the
window glass.

If not there, there is none for the factory system, so you will need
to remove the after market remote starter system and start over.
