Car Alarms: 2000 Olds Silhouette, passlock bypass, alarmtek

Question
Is there a way to disable the alarm on a 2000 Old Silhouette.  The horn alarm will just start going off in a parking lot after 10 or 20 minutes of sitting.  I have cleaned to sliding door contacts and made sure all interior lights are off.  I would like for the doors to still lock/unlock remotely, but I don't want the horn notification if opened without the remote.  The problem is intermittent....one day goes off everytime you lock doors, other days never makes a sound.

Answer
Hey , I get this one a whole lot
(as you probably have read.)

and of course, & Unfortunately, yes this
vehicle has a the PASSLOCK III key
based engine disabling system, and will require a
GM PLJX bypass module to circunvent it and
KEEP IT THAT WAY!

A bypass is required to interupt PASSLOCK for
remote start applications. It is done by
grounding the system to allow it to start,
then re establish it for security usage.

This Passlock Bypass Module is designed to provide
a proper coded pulse to open the fuel rail
passlock injector cut off circuit.

The output from an alarm/remote starter
would then shut down the pulse, once it has detected
the engine has engaged, and preserve the integrity
of the passlock system.

That is it's designed purpose.

This is a self learning, resistor sensing
and self adjusting module. Once the VATS/PASSLOCK
wires have been tapped,
you would press the program button to learn,
and it does. The car should then allow start
with any hardware store key.
