Car Alarms: How to restore the open/locked BEEP on car alarm, karr alarm, representitive

I have a KARR alarm w/fob on a 2000 Honda CRV. I opened my car and set off the alarm, then pushed the fob and it stopped, beeping four times.I got in and pushed the red button under the dash also (I don't know why). Now it no longer "beeps" during lock/unlock, which I need. How do I restore the "beep"? The locks lock, and the lights flash, but I want the sound as I often  unlock it from my living room before going out. Thanks
