Car Alarms: Passive Alarming & Remote Prolbem, auto reply, product question

Question
I have a viper 771XV alarm on my truck, it was recently stolen because I don't have the keyless entry bypass thing on it, so I have to lock it w/ the factory remote, then arm it with the viper remote, sometimes I forget, and this resulted in it being stolen last week so my question is:

How do I program it for passive alarming?  (assuming this mean it will automatically arm itself if I forget?)

Also:  The 2-way remote seems to be one way now, ever since I changed the battery I think, i.e. instead of giving a confirmation beep it gives what I think is an out of range beep (3 double beeps)and it doesn't alert me when the alarm is triggered.  (My truck was broken into AGAIN last night and the alarm was triggered and they ran but I never heard anything, I really want to catch these bastards in the act)  I may just need to buy a new one??

Thank you so much in advance for your help.

DEI product question or, service request
you've made to ALARMTEK at
ALLEXPERTS.com

As it says on the site at
Allexperts.com, I don't do
VIPER/DEI tech support here any longer.
They simply have too many issues
& problems. I will simply choose
that DEI supply you the answers for
your questions. www.directed.com

You can also try my forum for
intall techs who would have this
information as well.

Lastly, you can write to:
sales@tampacaralarms.com
And ask for assistance.
They handle many of these
questions for us there.

Good luck with it.
