QuestionI see the question that other person asked and his was the opposite of mine...
mine is the stock car alarm going off...ie parking lights and horn honking, i do
now have any other alarm on there. Why does it do this and how do i fix it?
AnswerThe trouble here is the factory alarm
is part of the door lock mechanism.
They are not a seperate unit, as some are.
To disarm it, the door lock motor on the drivers
door must mechanically, either by key to
the left, and to the right to disarm and unlock,
or, by adding a remote keyless entry to unlock
the system, and lastly, go to VW and get the key reprogrammed.<<(My vote!)
VW's are notorious this way, so the best idea,
is to contact the service dept. and have it inspected
and reset. Your call though.
Likely to keep happining however, so you might
want to spend a couple of dollars now before it
leaves you stranded later.
