Car Alarms: Remote car starter, remote car starter, 2007 nissan frontier

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2007 Nissan Frontier and I am interested in purchasing a remote starter. From what I can tell, the Commando EZ 2500 is a very good unit for the price and according to you is a good bet for Japanese vehicles. Is this correct? Also, is it a good idea to include the relay to disable the starter? I'm afraid I might get into the car and try to re-start it, grinding the flywheel and starter gear.

ANSWER: Yes to all the questions.
The EZ 2500 is a very solid system,
and will do well in the 07' Frontier.

You would also need a Transponder bypass kit (25.00)
to get it to remote start.

Anti grind IS suggested in this vehicle as well,
so it appears you've done the research.
Good man.

I say go for it and good luck with the
project!

QUESTION: One more question. I have installed other electronic components in my vehicles in the past and I am a licensed Master Electrician (which I know is totally different but does give me some technical knowledge). However when I reviewed the installation instructions on the web site I think it may be a little too much to undertake especially when cutting into factory wiring on a new vehicle. I live near Nashville,TN and wonder if you have any suggestions. I believe CarTronics and Circuit City will install any Manufacturers units but do also offer their own items. I believe Python is at Circuit City and Directed Electronics is at CarTronics.

Answer
You should be able to do it with your background sure.
But if not, have a guy in Cookville, that can do it
for you just fine. Ask for Charlie @

Good guy and can take care of it if you can't with
little to no problem.

Have a good day.
