Car Alarms: 1996 Avenger, 1996 dodge avenger, dodge avenger

Hello. I have a 1996 Dodge Avenger Es with factory keyless entry/alarm system. I want to set my alarm so when I lock the doors the lights flash and the horn honks. I went to my local Chrysler Dealership and they said they couldn't program it since I have an aftermarket remote. However my remote looks exactly identical to the factory one. So I am thinking that I can hook it up manually but i need some help. When i lock my car with my remote, my interior lights flash twice, and when i unlock it, the just come on. I am thinking if i can find the alarm module and the wire that runs to the interior lights, i can rewire it to the headlights, thus when i lock it they flash twice, and when i unlock it they turn on. So then i know my car is locked and unlocked. Is there any way this is possible and how do i do it. thanks!

You need to go identify what you have to start with,
so you can see if it has the outputs to make this happen.

as providing replacement remote transmitters
and programming them, is what they specialize in.

Then let me know what you have there,
and I can try to tell you if what you want
to do is possible with what you have to work
with.
