Car Alarms: 96 maxima factory alarm, amp fuse, flashing light

Hi, I have a 96 Maxima SE with the factory alarm system.  prior to 2 days ago, the hazard lights would flash when i lock the door with the key fob.  but all of a sudden the hazard flashing stopped!?!  the doors still lock/unlock with the key fob, and my hazard lights still works (when hazard button is pushed), just that no flashing of lights when i lock my doors with the remote.  this is a bit inconvenience because now i don't know if the car received my command of locking the doors when i press the remote.
I've heard that there are 3 modes to the factory alarm, one is flashing lights and horn sound when using the fob, one is just flashing lights, and the last is nothing.  so if this is true, how to i switch between the modes?  Please help!

Well, inline on the after market system's
flashing light output will be a 10-15 amp fuse.
It might be burnt. All things being equal,
that's what I would inspect first.

Flashing headlights denotes factory,
flash parking lights tell me after market.

So if dealing with 2 systems, it's the aftermarket
system that you need to look at.

Take it to a local car alarm shop and have
it looked at.
