Car Alarms: We want to add keyless entry to our 2002 Elantra GLS, hyundai dealership, hyundai dealer

Question
QUESTION: This car has power windows and locks and we want to add keyless entry.  According to our local retailer of keyless entrys, the driver door doesn't have the motor to attach the system too, although it does control all the other doors.  Our local Hyundai dealer (I think they sell about 5 a year and don't know anything) says the car isn't equipped for keyless entry and there's nothing we can do.  I have read on this site about several aftermarket keyless entrys.  Can you help us?

ANSWER: Yes, if this vehicle did not offer keyless entry at
the point of sale, then an actuator would
need to be added to the drivers door, and a
decent after market system to control it.

In my store, the 2 pieces would cost 50.00 + s&h
and usually 79.95 to install it.

I hope this answered your inquiry.

QUESTION: Thanks for such a quick answer!  I did buy an actuator from the Hyundai dealership, but the installer (after taking the door completely apart) said that I bought what was already on the door....says I need a special module that would include a motor.  Does this make sense?  And is there a way we could buy the necessary stuff from you? How would I contact you for that?  Thanks!

ANSWER: No problem.
I have the stuff right here.
copy cut n paste the payment link

QUESTION: Okay...just to make sure here.  I'm being told that there are power locks and power locks..that the power locks on our car (as in a lot of imports) has motors on all doors except the driver's, which is manual (although it controls all the other doors).  Supposedly the elec locks on the car now don't look the same as the "official" elec locks.  We have a "paddle" looking lock.  Do you still say we can add keyless with your stuff?  And if my installer still can't make it work, will you take it back?  I am getting really excited here....it was a big deal to my son!  Thanks again....Anne

Answer
Have a look at www.relayhelp.com
look at adding aftermarket door lock actuators.
Hre's how it works...
...The door lock rod that goes back n forth
on the drivers door, opens and closes the
others by wire. The Mazda 626 was another
vehicle that had this system in it.

What you do here, is add this actuator
(lock/unlock motor) to the door lock/unlock
rod on the door mechanism in the drivers door
so when you lock and unlock, it pushes and
pulls the rod, thus providing remote keyless.
Will work.

I can only give money back on UN WIRED
equipment. But we do this a lot.
Not to worry though
if you have a competant installer.

Better?
