Car Alarms: 98 Pontiac Grand Am 4 door, chev silverado, code combinations

Question
I am installing a Valet 712t on a '98 Pontiac Grand Am. I read your response to  the question about the '93 Chev. Silverado, and was wondering if the colors would all be the same and match for this Pontiac? I have tried a few different color-code combinations and can hear the relays click inside and can get the LED to flash when hitting "lock", but cannot ever get the doors to lock or unlock.
