Car Alarms: Manual Door Locks Disabled?, lesser of two evils, 2007 toyota yaris

Question
I bought a used 2007 Toyota Yaris with manual door locks. The previous owner installed a Python alarm. The alarm allows you to lock and unlock the doors with the remote. However once inside and the engine is on you are locked in and no one can open the door from the outside. You can not even manually unlock the doors. The doors lock/unlock buttons flip back and forth freely as if completely disconnected.
Has the factory door lock linkage been disconnected to allow the Python servos to function?
I want to be able to lock and unlock my doors from the inside even if it means getting rid of keyless entry.
Thank you.

Answer
It appears that's exactly what they did.
You will need to open the door panels and
repair it if you want the manual
door slider to be able to be used.

Have a look at www.relayhelp.com and print
off adding door lock actuators. Then trace
the wiring etc to affect repairs.

Keep in mind, there might have been a reason
that was done though :>(.

You will however discover what it was upon
inspection, and then determine which is the
lesser of two evils on this issue for
your needs.

Good luck & Merry Christmas
