My 1998 Plymouth voyager won't start. We reset the alarm from the the valet button after disconnecting the battery and it will start but only for that time. Once we shut off the van it won't start. The alarm automatically turns itself on and we don't have the control for it. We have had the van for a few years now. Could it be the alarm or the auto shutdown relay?

Both. And without the remote, it's a matter of time before
it will strand you.

Take it out at this point. Get a fresh one
with to new remotes and start over. You'll be
much happier then playing starter roulette with the
current one.
