Car Alarms: Toyota 4 Runner Keyless Entry, fcc id, toyota 4 runner

I only have one keyless entry remote for my 4 runner.  When the car is locked with the remote, my wife can not use her key to start the car.  She can unlock the doors but the alarm goes off and will not allow the car to start.  Is there any way around the security system with the key, if the car is locked with the remote?

Doubtfull.
  I suggest getting that 2nd remote.
Use the FCC ID on the back on the remote will
help. Go to www.keynfob.com , and then
that won't become an issue.

See valet overide in the last few posts
just in case it does happen though.
