Car Alarms: Chrysler 300C Touring Car Alarm Motion Detector, chrysler 300c touring, ohm resistor

Question
QUESTION: Hi!  I hope you can help.  I am seriously annoyed by the motion detector aspect of the car alarm in my new Chrysler 300C.  It means I can't lock my dog in the car while I run in for a quart of milk.  I am willing to disable the alarm altogether, but the dealership told me it's not possible.  Can you please offer any help?  Thanks in advance.

ANSWER: Odd since that device is not part of the "factory"
system.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: Hello again.  Well I believe that it is the horn honking (not a siren), but there is also an LED light that flashes in the dash.  The instructions for the alarm are included in the pre-printed Owners Manual, so I assumed it was factory installed????

Answer
THERE IS A WAY, HOWEVER A TECHICIAN WOULD NEED
TO DO THIS WORK:

TO DISARM THE ALARM YOU MUST USE A
POSITIVE PULSE THROUGH A 680 OHM RESISTOR.
IF YOU USE A DOUBLE PULSE THIS WILL ALSO
UNLOCK THE DOORS. YOU MUST USE RELAYS!

BUT IT'S FAIRLY INVOLVED. COMPLEX CAR HERE.
TAKE THESE NOTES TO A TECHNICIAN WHEN YOU GO.

I HOPE THIS GETS YOU ON THE RIGHT TRACK.
