Car Alarms: volvo 440 imobiliser, engine wiring loom, fuel pump relay

Question
hi please can you help me as im about to pull my hair out!!! i have a volvo 440 1.8 1995 model with standard volvo remote locking key fob i have just fitted a new gear box and now the car will not start. you turn the ignition key the starter motor turns no problem but the fuel pump relay is not running and there is no spark also the single point injector is not operating i have checked all wiring plugs and connectors nothing is undone. i have put a fault code reader on the car it says no faults found. i have checked the power to the coil & fuel pump relay there is power at the fuel pump relay for just a split second when you crank the engine. i checked the ecu power and earth pins all are as they should be. i have fitted a new crank sensor still no spark. i even got another volvo and swoped the ecu still no different. ive even swoped the engine wiring loom incase i broke a wire still no different. the only thing i wondered could it be the imobiliser box under the steering wheel is there a way of bypassing this im sure there must be as the early volvo i got the bits off hassnt got one and this ran fine? please help im at wits end!!!thankyou adam

Answer
I don't have this one in my database, but
are you sure this had an immobilizer from Volvo
in it? Is it possible that you are dealing with
an after market device installed by the dealer?

If so, there may be a way to bypass it safely
by removing it. Please have a look under the steering
column at that "box" you mentioned. Does it
appear to be put in after the fact?

let me know.
