Car Alarms: K9 Car Alarm Not Responding, resident technicians, honda accord

Question
I have a K9 alarm system in my '96 Honda Accord. Recently it went off when I accidentally opened my trunk without disarming the alarm. The car comes with a device that plugs into the under part of the dash and when it is removed, it prevents the car from starting. If you hold down the button on this device for ten seconds while it is plugged in, it allows you to disarm the car alarm if it is going off. So when my alarm went off, I held down on the button for ten seconds which shut off the alarm. Ever since then, I cant get the alarm to work. The remote clicker that comes with the security unit still works (i.e. the batteries are still in working order) but I cannot arm or disarm the alarm anymore. The remote clicker also does not lock or unlock the doors anymore and I am forced to do this manually with the car key.  The K9 system came with a little red blinking light that you can install to ward off intruders, but ever since this incident, the red light no longer blinks every few seconds, but remains lit continuously.  What can I do to fix the alarm or re-set it in some way?  Thanks!

Answer
Odd. Ok sounds like the system is
in valet Overide mode right now,
and needs to be rest. Should
be relatively easy to do yourself,
but I do not have the procedure
here.

For difinative information on your alarm,
either try at www.caralarm.com
(the manufacturer) or on this one,
go to my installers forum at
www.installsupport.com and see if
my resident technicians there can assist
with this project. I don't know enough
on this system to advise you properly.

Good luck there.
