Car Alarms: Pursuit car alarm (vintate 1997 ?), pursuit car, dash switch

Question
I just purchased a used 1997 Lumina sedan.  Unknown to the dealer, the previous owner had installed a Pursuit auto alarm, according to the decal on the window.  Dealer told me the LED was fake, but it's not ..,. because now my car is immobilized in my driveway.

I have a keychain transmitter with 2 buttons, a small LED light on the dashboard (which I clipped earlier, thinking it was fake and just drained the battery) and an underdash switch I discovered by accident.  There is also a siren under the hood, that has been disconnected, and no sign of electronics under the hood.  So I'm guessing everything is under the dash.

I want to totally totally disable this alarm system.  How do I do that?  Thank you.  I don't know what I did to make it drive  home okay, or what I did to have it not work this morning.

Final comment: here was the sequence I discoverered by accident.  If under-dash switch moved to the left (that is, the two grey wires connected as measured by my voltmeter), one button on the transmitter causes door to lock and unlock.  If door is locked with this transmitter, the key does not work in the ignition.  If doors are unlocked with this transmitter, key does work.  Then if the under-dash switch is moved right (breakign the connection between the two gray wires), the igniton button does not lock or unlock the door.  After discovering this, I was able to start ignition.  Then I go out a few hours later, car won't start again.

Thank you.

Answer
The easiest way obviously is to remove and repair
the factory wiring. If that does not
appeal to you, then try this...

The sequence
for that type of switch should be:

KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH IN OPOSITE DIRECTION,
KEY OFF=RESET.

Then leave it that way. The alarm should
stay disabled until your repeat the steps.

Your call, but I'd take it out.
