Car Alarms: 94 Infiniti factory alarm, alarmtek, dash area

Question
QUESTION: I have a '94 J30 Infiniti with a factory alarm that has a mind of its own. If I leave
the car unlocked and usually with a window down, when I open the driver's door
the alarm goes off. I did not set the alarm to begin with. Also, every once in
awhile, the car locks itself when the either front door closes. What to do?

ANSWER: Ok,

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: Yes,  Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing. I have to frantically press the
Infiniti remote to get the alarm to stop. Sometimes I have to press several times
to get it to stop honking (could be weak battery?)
Thanks for any help.

ANSWER: Please change the battery in your remote for optimum performance. You are right.
It sounds like you have a handle
on things. It does sound as if
the battery is going.

QUESTION: No, no, no! I'm sorry I brought up the battery thing it deflected you from
addressing the problem. It's not the remote battery. The alarm has been doing
this weird thing with a brand new battery, brand new remote! There is NO
reason for the car locks to lock themselves or the alarm to go off when I open
the door, especially since I did not lock the car to begin with.

Answer
If brand new, the programming does not seem to be
correct, or the new remote is sending conflicting signals
by itself. Please return to where it was purchased
for an evaluation. There should be no signal
at all until the buttons are pressed by you.
