Car Alarms: 98 Camry Securikey+ not working, outdated system, led flashes

The remote key fob no longer activates the system. I found over the course of the past couple years the range which it worked grew shorter and then even at close range it took several attemps for the doors to lock/unlock. Finally it quit working all together. I have replaced the battery in the key and the LED flashes when the button is pressed. I have two keys and neither one will operate the system.
Any advice?

Yep, remove this old, outdated system and replace
with a fresh system and remotes.
Start over.

Best to start over then to shore up a failing
device. Less money, and you would also
be able to KNOW exactly how to control it.

That's the best advice I can offer. The option
is to throw money at the one you have now.

If you simply want to get new remotes, try a site
like www.keynfob.com to get that accomplished.
