Car Alarms: 1994 Mazda 626 Factory Alarm, side kick panel, negative polarity

Question
QUESTION: Lately, particularly on cold mornings ( frost present ) when I unlock the driver's side door with the key ( no remote with this system ) the alarm trips and won't go off until some magical time has elapsed.  I've tried turning the key and such but to no avail.  Of course I can't start the car because of the starter cut-off.  I assume a pin connection is "bad" in the hood, trunk, or doors.  1. How can I test them? 2. What can I do to disable a particular pin? 3. What can I do to just disable the entire system? Thanks.

ANSWER: Hmmm,
Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you.

QUESTION: Headlights, horn, and a dash light that is an orange key with "alarm".

Answer
Ok, if the OEM alarm
malfunctioning now,
(car horn blarring and head lights flashing)
odds are, it will again.

Get out some basic install tools or get
a friend or a good technician
in there to do this.

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
yellow/red or light green/black |- negative polarity|
at the harness coming out of the door
in the driver's side kick panel or in
the factory alarm built into the fuse box.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the OEM alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
