Car Alarms: 99 Toyota Celica, Alarm issue, toyota celica, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: Hello,
I haven't driven my toyota for about 90 days (a whole different story). I started it once about 30 days ago and had no issue. It now has a dead battery but I'm charging it at this moment. The issue is that every time I open a door or the hood or trunk the alarm screams at me. I believe it's a stock alarm. I no longer have the key/remote to turn it off and am not sure if it will turn off once I finally get it started. Just turning the key in the ignition isn't making it stop. Any suggestions, or ideas what I should do to make her stop? Thank you!

ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: The horn is honking and the break lights and turn signals are flashing, but no new lights on, on my dash. I've pulled the horn fuse and it's stopped honking (short term while trying to fix for my ears sake). I've had the car plugged into a charger all day too, and it still wont start. Sometimes I'm lucky and get some really fast clicking, but that stops after my first attempt to start the car. Just want to give you the extra tid bits of info in case the two issues are tied to each other. Thank you again

Answer
The problem I have is none of the notes
show a factory alarm here.

Not sure what aftermarket system you have
there. This is what I think is going
on....

The alarm seems to be in long tamper mode.
You will need to reset, and possibly
re program the remotes. That part you will need
your manual for, but the aftermarket alarm
seems to be doing it's job.
At least we know it's installed correctly
which is actually a good thing here.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.

Let me know what happens.
