Car Alarms: 94 golf alarm system, double pulse, cylender

Question
the factory alarm on  the 94 golf I have is tied into the door locks.  well the
door lock actuator that is in the trunk keeps buzzing(working electrically) is it
possible to disable this part.  But also the door locks do not go down on all
sides at once.  one side will go down when you operate the door cylender and
the other side will go down on the passenger side.  B ut the moter in the
trunk will cycle way to often and in the process weaken the battery.  So I was
wondering if there was an initialization of the factory door locks that needs to
take place or if I can disable the drivers door lock to keep the motor from
cycling.

Answer
You would need to look at the specs for the door lock
system in a VW car book, or at www.chiltonsonline.com
But from the description, the truck mechanism
is going bad. You will need to replace it as it is part
of of the whole system. Can't simply isolate it,
you'd need to repair/replace it.

If adding a keyless system to it,
please review this is a POSITIVE trigger door
locking system, (see at www.relayhelp.com)
and will require relays to do them
when adding an after market keyless entry.

POWER LOCK|yellow/red or gray
driver door harness in drivers kick
&
POWER UNLOCK|red/black or green in the
driver door harness in drivers kick
(Requires a double pulse to unlock.)

That's what I can offer you on this one.

Good luck.
