Car Alarms: 1993 nissan maxima se, nissan maxima se, silver dots

Question
QUESTION: My 1993 won't start now.  It had gotten hard to start.  The battery is not the problem.  Could it be the security system?  It has a key pad, but I bought it used and don't have a code.  The person I bought it from said that if the alarm goes off, I need to unlock the trunk to disarm it.  Is there any way to permanently disarm it?  Thanks

ANSWER: That sounds like an odd installation.
I am going to suggest you take it into
a local car alarm shop for evaluation
and repair or removal, as this could be
any system and have features that will
affect the locks, lights etc...

Too many variables to give a solid answer.

Again, I'd get a pro on this.

QUESTION: This is not an aftermarket security system.  It is factory installed.  Thank you very much.  Falcon

Answer
Ok if you are certain this is the factory alarm
and it's malfunctioning now, odds
are, it will again.

Get out some basic install tools or get
a friend or a good technician
in there to do this.

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
lt.green/black with silver dots
|- negative polarity|
located at the anti-theft module
to left of steering column.
Says Theft Warning on module.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the OEM alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
