Car Alarms: stealth plus vs-9100 alarm, alarmtek, remotes

I just purchased a jag xj-s convertible with this alarm installed, it seems to do nothing except flash two led's on the top of each door when the ignition is on. I have two remotes that make an audible squealing noise when the button is pressed, nothing else happens.
I took a look under the dash at the unit installation it is a nightmare! I don't see any value in having it I just want to get rid of the thing but am reluctant to just rip it out.
Do you think I can just disconnect the main control box?

If you have any suggestions or information on this device I would appreciate it.

Well. to start, I do not have info on the system,
but more over, this is not something to simply unplug.
It may also control the door locks etc...

Best suggestion here is to have a pro take it out
safely. Makes little sense to get mad and "rip" it out.
Can cause more trouble then it's worth.

I hope you go with a pro on this one.
