Car Alarms: 2000 Nissan Altima car alarm goes off for no reason, nissan altima, alarmtek

Hi.  I own a 2000 Nissan Altima.  For the past month or so, the car alarm has been going off without my activating it with the remote nor someone provoking it.  Any thoughts on what this problem is and how I can fix it?

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.
