Car Alarms: car alarm/ remote starter, nissan altima, entrance control

Question
I have a 2001 Nissan Altima with a factory car alarm. A couple of years ago I got a remote starter from circuit city. Recently I had my 60,000 mile maintenance done. Now when I try to start my car it will try to turn over but then it will just begin alarming like crazy, lights flashing horn honking irregularly. Eventually it will start and I have no idea why. My husband took out the alarm fuse from both boxes but it still does this. So far the only difference is that the car will now start, but it still alarms until I push the unlock button a couple of times. This happens even with the remote starter button in the off position. The car will not turn over at all (acts just like a dead battery start, but with all lights and radio working) if the horn is disconnected from the front or the horn fuses are disconnected. This is driving me insane and I don't have a lot of spare cash right now for an expensive fix. Is there a way to turn the horn off as well? I can't seem to do it with the clicker given to me when I purchased the remote start. Thanks for the time.

Answer
Ok, this is the factory system
doing it's job, and in this
case, detecting when the remote starter is
engaged. The system installer did not bypass
the factory system for this eventuality.

I would go back to the installer, and
have them re do the factory alarm disarm wire.
Your remote starter will have an output that
would be designed to send a (-) pulse to
the factory alarm. Have them use it.

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
green/yellow |-| at smart entrance control,
located to the right of the steering column.
It is black or blue in color.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
the (-) trigger for foactory disarm wire
from the remote starter. This terminates
the alarm functions when applied.

That should solve this issue for you
I believe.

Have a good day.
