Car Alarms: Reset Alarm, alarmtek, valet service

Question
QUESTION: I just installed a new battery in my 01 ford mustang, and now  the alarm light wont stop blinking while i'm driving and when i'm driving or the doors open, the lights from the inside and the outside go off and on like if the cables from the battery are not connected right. but the switch in the inside is turned off and also the cables are disconnected. WHat can i do

ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.

QUESTION: its more of this : flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area the siren does not go off. this started as soon as the new battery was installed, it never happened before

ANSWER: Gotcha, let's put it into valet/service mode,
and try to reset the alarm to default mode.

Look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried.

You would repeat these steps to go back to
user mode to see if this was corrected.

Let me know if it works for yours.

QUESTION: It didn't work . i don't know what and why this is happening. WHat else do u suggest?

Answer
Hmmm, sorry to hear it.
Well then, it's on to removal from
the factory wiring under the dash.

I would suggest you go to the local
Circuit City or Best Buy or any other
local installation shop for inspection/repair
or removal to solve this issue for you.

Good luck with it.
