Car Alarms: Keyless entry, fcc id, mazda 6

Question
I recently purchased a used Mazda 6, the remote was operating fine.  Recently I pressed the button to lock the doors and nothing happened.  I purchased a new battery (energizer 2025) for the remote.  This did not correct the problem, some one told me I had to program the remote, HUH!!!  What do I need to do and can I do it myself???

Answer
I wish I had some sunshine to spread your way,
but no.

You would now need to identify the remote system
installed by using the remote info. Please go to
www.KEYLESSRIDE.com or, www.AUTOTECHS.com ,
or, www.REMOTESUNLIMITED.com
and identify what system you have by the FCC ID#
on the back. These are all specialty shops designed
to provide replacement transmitters.

Then you can then either track back to the
manufacturer to get the programing procedure,
and try to salvage the old remote,
or you can simply purchase another pair,
sold that way most likely, and program to
your system.

Sorry. All remotes are differently programmed.
you need specifics only your system requires,
so there is no simple yes or no answer to offer.

Good hunting.
