Car Alarms: HELP!!!, trunk pop, chirp

QUESTION: The battery that was in my car died and when a friend tried to replace it, the alarm wouldn't stop going off including making the trunk pop open and the lights flash. The alarm remote wouldn't work and neither did pushing the button under the dash. How do I get the alarm to stop going off so that I can replace the battery??? I desperatly need my car to get back and forth to work. Thank you.

ANSWER: May not have the procedure down on the button under the dash I think.

KEY ON, PRESS AND HOLD IN BUTTON
UNTIL A CHIRP FROM THE SIREN=OVERIDE.
KEYOFF.

Repeat the steps to go back to user mode.

Hard to say what you have there.
I would need to inspect it.

I this I need to suggest that you need
to call in a local installer to look
at it, and help you get it started.

Without my being able to see what's going on,
it's really hard to advise as to how to
overide it.
