Car Alarms: 2003 Honda Accord Ex Security System, honda accord ex, 2003 honda accord

Question
QUESTION: The security system automatically sets 15 seconds after locked. The security system light on the instrument panel starts blinking immediately to show you the system is setting itself. Does the blinking light go off or does it stay blinking until you unlock the car?

ANSWER: This is called "passive arming". It's an after market
system, so hard to say exactly what you have there.

Once the key is turned on however, that should stop the
blinking LED light. If it does not, your alarm
may need to be reset. See past posts on valet overide
for that.

You can probably get more info as to what system
you have there at a site like www.keynfob.com,
or, www.remotes4you.com .

Try to ID what you have, go to the manufacturers
web site and then maybe get a download of
the manual to see exactly what it's doing.

Good luck with it.

QUESTION: This is not an after market it is factory with the 2003 honda accord ex. My question: does the LED light continue to blink while the car is in alarm mode? Mine does and when you unlock the car with the key the LED light goes off. If this is the way it works then it would not need to be reset.
Thank You

Answer
Interesting. I would have to deffer you to the
folks at Honda then for an answer on they're
equipment. My specialty is after market applications
and i honestly do not have a good answer for your
inquiry if it's factory.

Call the service dept. at the local Honda dealer and
pose this question. They will be able to give you
a decent answer for this.

Please let me know so I can tell others.
