Car Alarms: 04 Grand Am, gm vehicle, car wont start

Question
I recently purchased a 04 Grand Am it came with no remotes, so I am to believe that there is a limited factory alarm. i am now installing a alarm system the keyless entry, remote trunk, and remote start. So far everything is going okay but now the car wont start. I have not yet gotten to the remote start and am having some difficulty with the pass lock module. I have tried to remove the alarm from the start system, with no success. Does the factory alarm have a fuel cut off and how do I bypass it or interface it? Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
The PASSLOCK II is a fuel rail cut off device,
so yes. The answer is yes it is probably
a problem now.

The car does not recognise the chip in the ignition
key now for some reason, likely pertaining to your
installation. If you happened to remove the power
for instance, you probably inadvertently wiped
the memory as well.

You can try to put the key
in the ignition, turn to the on position & wait at
least 10 mins like that when it happens, and that
MIGHT work. But after awhile, it will stop working at all.
Your ignition switch VATS reader assembly may be to blame.

In some cases, the VATS (GM'S VEHICLE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM)
will re learn the code this way, and will then
allow the restart all the time. But if this does not work,
then go to any GM vehicle dealer to have the service department evaluate the issue,
& re code it.

Not sure what they will charge for this service
however.

Good luck I hope method
1 does the trick!
