Car Alarms: 1996 Ford Explorer Factory Alarm, best bet, electrical problem

Question
Dear Alarmtek,

I've been having recent troubles with my 1996 Ford Explorer. It started when the power windows would randomly not work after I start the car. Sometimes they do sometime they dont, I also noticed the 2wd/4wd lights blinking a few times after I turn on the car. Now the factory alarm seems to be going off at random times, this obviously seems like some sort of electronic malfunction. Please help me Alarmtek!

Answer
From the sounds of it, I'd have to agree you have
an electrical problem. The alarm going off is
1 of the results of it, not the cause I imagine.

Best bet is to start with a mechanic to determine
what the "gremlin" is. Could be the charging system.
Could also be the computer or BCM (body control mod)
is going bad too. But it's all speculation until
it's inspected.

Start with an evaluation of the electrical system.
Let me know what they discover.
