Car Alarms: disable alarm on 2004 aveo, valet mode, chevy dealer

Question
In a previous question I had asked about disabling the alarm on my 2004 aveo.  It was going off all of a sudden and stopping by itself.  You needed to know what I was experiencing to determine whether it's a factory alarm issue or an aftermarket system.  It is defiantly a factory alarm since I haven't installed anything else.   It is definitely flashing parking lights, and a siren going off.  However, when looking through the window, I did not notice any LED in the dash area.  The Chevy dealer said it could be the hood pin but I don't want to take it in, I'd prefer just disable it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
NOT FACTORY.
If you have a siren, and the parking lights
are flashing, this is aftermarket, and was
probably installed at tht dealer prior to sale.
If it was headlights and car horn, then it would
be a "factory alarm".

Please try the following method to put
your alarm into service or what we call
"Valet/overide" mode.

To start, look under the dash area for a button or,
a toggle switch. When you locate it, turn on the
ignition key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.=VALET/OVERIDE

This stops the alarm except for the keyless
entry if installed. To get out of this
mode, simply repeat the steps.

But once in Valet mode, it will allow the car
to start and operate like there was no alarm
at all.

Let me know how it goes.
