Car Alarms: RS3000, inline fuse, flashing light

Question
i have a 99 solara v6 and it comes with the RS3000 VIP alarm system.
not long ago i disconnected the battery for a period of time. the alarm still works fine, however, the exterior lights no longer flash when i arm or disarm my car.
help?

Answer
What probably happened here is that when you reconnected
the battery, you may have surged the power on the
fused flashing light output from the VIP system.
To repair it though will require you to locate
the alarm brain, see which wire (probably white)
that has the fues inline, and is connected to the
parking light wire in the Solara, and replace.

That is usually the culprit on these situations.
No biggie, but can and does happen.
That's why they put an inline fuse when the
alarm was produced to circuit break when a surge
happens like this.

Good luck. Not too big a deal really.
