Car Alarms: 2000 Caravan lockup after alarm went off, dodge service, dodge caravan

Question
I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan SE with a factory installed alarm. Last night I was in the car with my two year old who was playing with the keys and he locked us in the car with the keyless entry fob.  My older son opened a door and the alarm went off, of course.  When I went to get the key to disarm the alarm, my toddler had somehow managed to lose the keys, and it was several minutes before they were recovered, and the alarm had stopped and reset and been activated again with another door opening before the keys were found and the alarm turned off.  When I went to put the keys in the ignition I was not able to turn them to start the car, or turn the wheel in either direction to "unlock" the ignition.  I tried unlocking the doors several times with the keyless entry and on the door itself, and even detached and reattached the battery cables. nothing works.  How can I get it to where I can start my car again?

Answer
Sorry, this one is on Dodge unfortunately.
You will need to contact the local dodge service
department, and ask for some advice on this because
of the mechanical difficulty in the ignition.

That is an OEM issue I have nothing on that
here as I do after market applications, not
factory mechanical issues.

Contact Dodge asap.

Wish I could have offered more.
