Car Alarms: Code Alarm DM 1500, mazda miata, alarmtek

Question
I have a 1991 mazda miata. The alarm was installed by the previous owner and I have not used it for at least two years. A couple of days ago I left my lights on at the train station when I left and when I came back the car was dead. When I got a jump, the alarm had engaged itself. I got a ride home to look for the remotes (which I could not find). So, I have no remote and no manual and need to figure out how to disarm the alarm so the car will start. There is a valet switch, but it does nothing and there is no disarm switch atatched to the alarm box were it indicates a place for one. What can I do?

Answer
The valet. You said you found it. Ok...
Did you try, key on, press and hold the valet
in until you get a reaction from the alarm?
This would overide the alarm.

If you did that and still no joy, then I'd
remove the alarm and harness wire by wire,
repairing the Mazda's OEM wiring as you go,
and then you will be back to basic Miata
specs.

However, I'd get another up to date system
to replace it right away, because at that
point, this car is super easy to steel.

Good luck I hope it
helped some.
