Car Alarms: alarm, honda service, honda accord ex

Question
Hi,

I have a 2000 Honda Accord Ex. Recently, when I try to turn the car on it sets off the alarm as soon as I turn the key in the ignition. I can turn the alarm off by getting out of the car, locking the door and then unlocking it but that doesn't disable the alarm because it happens again the next time I try.

Yesterday I got the car started by switching it the accessories setting first and from there to drive but that didn't work today. In fact, this morning, it almost seemed as though the key was locked - it wouldn't let me turn all the way through to drive the first few times but I finally got it to go (with no alarm).

I can't tell if this is 1) a problem with the key (but I don't think so because I've tried two), 2) a problem with the alarm that just needs to be fixed, or 3) something a hit or switched or did to make it on a higher alarm setting.

Any hints to make it stop?

Thanks,
Amanda

Answer
I honestly have no idea what to advise here as it
seems the car is having other issues past the
"ALARM" part. Alarms are totally electronic
in performance. It would not affect any mechanical
devices such as a key turning in a lock cylander.
This is something else I think.

Best thing here is to contact Honda service,
explain this issue and then get it inspected.

Also have them look at your charging system as
this may be the cause. If failing, it will
affect several system throughout the car.

Let me know what the discover.
