Car Alarms: 2005 Honda Pilot Panic Alarm w/ dead battery, honda pilot, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: The battery died on my 2005 Honda Pilot.  When I tried to jump the battery, the panic alarm went off as soon as I made the final connection.  I was unable to disarm the alarm even after I got the vehicle to start.  Any suggestions on how to turn off or disarm the alarm would be appreciated.

ANSWER: Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take, to help you to fix this
situation you're in quickly.

QUESTION: It is the factory installed alarm normally set off by the panic button on the key.  It includes the horn, headlights, taillights, and I believe the turn signal lights as well.  I don't know about the dashboard as i haven't checked yet

Answer
If this is indeed the factory alarm,
it depends on the physical action of
the doors locking and unlocking.

Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
blue |-| at the driver door key cylinder
in the door. The door panel needs to be removed
to access this area.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

That being said...
...if it's an aftermarket alarm, there would
be a reset or valet switch under the dash area,
that would help you out. But you'd need to
tell me if there's an LED flashing in the dash
when that happens, and if a siren is sounding,
and the parking lights flashing at the same time
you can't start it, then it is indeed an
after market alarm. The next time this happens,
try the following:

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

I hope this helps to solve your issue.
