Car Alarms: 04 Nissan Altima Alarm system, car beeps, nissan altima

Hi guys,

My car beeps/honks 3 times (short and rapid) whenever I shut the driver side door. It has never done that before and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary. I locked the doors using the keyfob after and it worked fine. But every time I close the door, the car honks 3 times. Seems like some security warning, but I have no idea why it would start up suddenly.

That usually denotes that the alarm was set off while you
were gone. A notification of sorts.

Get the manual for your alarm out and look
at resetting the alarm back to standard mode.
If not in the manual, it may be after market.

Last, if no joy there, contact the service
department at Nissan, and simply ask the rep
ther if he has any thoughts on this. It should
be a covered under warranty item.
