Car Alarms: excalibur cat alarm, alarmtek, fiat punto

Hello, I have a 1996 Fiat punto, with an Excalibur alarm system.
When I open the car (using the remote control) the alarm sounds for 3 times (and not 2 times as it used to be). I have no trouble driving the car.
After parking the car and switching the alarm on (using the remote control) the alarm goes spontaneously off every 15 to 30 minutes.
Trying to disable the alarm with the alarm key switched into its place doesn't help,  no matter if the alarm switch is turned on or off the alarm still starts by itself.
