Car Alarms: Disconnect 2003 Dodge Durango Alarm, ohm resistor, dodge durango

Question
QUESTION: We have a 2003 Dodge Durango with a factory installed alarm (flashing lights and horn).  it keeps going off randomly in the middle of the night.  Is there anyway to disconnect it?

ANSWER: It should reset when you put the key in the
drivers side door, turn left first to disarm,
then right to unlock.

If this does not reset the system, and it
still goes off in the middle of the night,
I strongly suggest an inspection at Dodge
to determine the falsing. Not alot you
can do on your own except permanantly
(surgically) disable it.

Let me know what they find.

QUESTION: We'd like to permanently disable it.  Any idea how?  Thanks so much!!!!

Answer
As I said, a surgical relay application
is going to be required.

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
FACTORY ALARM ARM is lt. green/orange
conn. 2, pin 14 @ the CENTRAL CONTROL MODULE
FACTORY ALARM DISARM is the same wire

Arm is negative trigger thru a 644 ohm resistor.
Disarm is negative trigger thru a 1565 ohm resistor.
MUST use 2 relays. This wire will also lock the doors,
and it will unlock with a double pulse.

Located at The Central Timer Module in the driver
kick panel.

You will need a great technician on
this one to get it right.

This can also control the lock and unlock
of this system. If done wrong, permanant damage
can and will be done to the central control timer.
Please get a professional on this project.
