Car Alarms: shut down alarm system permantely, little spring, key press

Question
How do I disarm my nissan altima98 alarm system for good? My keyless remote no longer works and I have to press the killswitch everytime I have to start the car. The alarm always seems to reset itself. Is there a way that the alarm will not reset? Thank you very much. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you do it in the proper procedure
to get it to function:

turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid.

That should do it. If not,
removal is the next step.
