Car Alarms: security remote quit working, toyota rav4, fcc id

Question
what kind of battery does a car alarm remote take and where (besides a dealer) can I get a replacement? I live in a very remote location - 80 miles from the nearest large city. My car is a 2001 Toyota Rav4 - the remote just stopped working today and I'm assuming it is a dead battery.

Answer
Hi June.
Hard to say without knowing what you have there.
The batteries will range from AAA to 7volt depending on
the manufacturer. And usually, this would be
an aftermarket system in this model and year
truck.

Let's start with going to a site that
sells after market and OEM remotes.

Please try a site like www.keylessride.com.
www.keynfob.com , or www.remotes4you.com .

All specialize in identifying and replacing
said transmitters, using the FCC ID# on the
back of the remote.

I hope this helps you with your troubles.
