Car Alarms: 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee security, jeep grand cherokee, grand cherokee laredo

Question
I have a 1993 Grand Cherokee Laredo SUV. Security alarm in the car gets activated whenever i tried to open door. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery to disarm the alarm. Now the security alarm is disarmed, but I'm not able to turn the ignition on. Whenever i tried to start the engine, 'security' flashes in the front panel and its not allowing me to start the vehicle. My car Remote Keyless entry is not working. So i am not able to deactivate the power-on mode. I'm desperately in need of my vehicle now and it would be great if you can give a suggestion to deactivate the Vehicle Immobilizer System without using Remote.

Thanks
Ashok

Answer
Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE IS
purple/yellow |-| in the driver kicks,
located in the black plug.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel, so I suggest you get an aftermarket
alarm system to protect it from here on in.

Have a good day.
