Car Alarms: disable alarm on 2004 aveo, alarmtek, dash area

Question
I've read some of the previous posts regarding disabling the after market alarm but my problem is with the factory alarm.  It's going off all of a sudden and stopping by itself.  I'm thinking it might be just really sensitive since I park beside railway tracks but it hasn't happened before until now.  I've been parking in the same spot for almost 2 yrs.  Do you know of any way to disable the factory alarm?

Please tell me what you are experiencing.

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
Or,
Is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
"going off"?

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action.
