Car Alarms: KARR alarm, karr alarm system, ford wiring

Question
QUESTION: A previous writer describes door locks going while driving with a KARR alarm system. I have the same problem with a 2004 Ford F250 with the addition of beeps and flashing tail light. I bought the truck used and taking it back to the installer is not an option. Since the truck has a security system, how hard is it to just removed the alarm? I don't need it and don't want to pay to fix it.

ANSWER: Not too bad really.
You should use the install guide
and get the wire chart for the 04' full size
pickup at www.mywires.com to retro fit
the system safely.

Takes about an hour for a novice
installed to remove the wiring and
repair as you go.

Good luck with it.

QUESTION: Thanks for the super fast response. The only info I got from the previous owner was a now expired warranty. The non-standard looking box with the wiring harness in the fuse box looks tough to trace the wiring--if that's the alarm module. I can't find anything on the web about KARR or where to get any manufacturer info about their alarms.

Did I mention that along with the beeps and flashing light that the open door warning light flashes? Stopping of the road and opening and slamming doors has no effect.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Answer
Wish I had more for you to go on. But I don't know
the Karr systems and would not be much help
on that end.

Is this what you have?

In any case, the wiring is interfaced
to the truck's, and that info I have at
the wirewerx.

It's a matter of reverse engineering.
Find the foriegn wiring attached to the OEM
Ford wiring, and clip off the wire, then black
tape for safety until completely removed.
